# Start an EchoMelon guest chat and check your messages

You can try a public EchoMelon story as a guest before signing in. Once you enter the chat, the message composer shows your current trial allowance. Read that display before you send your first message.

This walkthrough documents one browser guest check on October 24, 2026. It shows where to start, what the allowance looked like before and after one reply, and where to find the regular login entry.

## Enter a public story’s chat

Choose a public story on [English Explore](https://echomelon.com/app/explore?lang=en), open its details, and select **Start Free Chatting**.

If you want to check the introduction before entering, [preview the story first](https://blog.echomelon.com/how-echomelon-story-preview-works). The details page helps you choose; the chat page is where you write your response.

We used the same guest chat that had already been opened through this normal story entry. No account login was needed for that entry or the single message below.

## Read the number beside the composer

Before typing, our composer displayed **Free Trial Mode · 5 messages left**.

Five is the number observed in this example. Check the current number and trial label in your own chat. It is not a promise that every mode, story or returning guest starts with the same allowance.

## Write one response and send it once

A short message can give the character a clear next step. For our archive scene, we wrote:

> I am here to organize the case files. Which document should I check first?

That is our original input. It asks the character for information while leaving room for the next exchange.

Write a response that fits your chosen story, select **Send**, and wait for the reply or the app’s feedback. A message appearing on screen is an earlier stage than receiving the reply; give the current request time to finish before taking another action.

## Check what changed

In this check, a reply appeared, the composer cleared, and the display changed to **Free Trial Mode · 4 messages left**.

![The same guest composer showing four messages left after one reply and refresh](https://storage.googleapis.com/caichat-428506.appspot.com/seo-echomelon-guest-trial-827438cb4b3c6b6c8720-guest-trial-after-en.jpg)

We refreshed the same conversation. Our message, the reply and the four-message display remained available. This example follows one conversation in the same browser.

If a request fails, follow the feedback shown. Do not assume that a failed attempt always restores allowance or that retrying is free.

## Find the regular login entry

When you want to log in, return to Explore and select **Log In**. In our check, it opened EchoMelon’s email login form. We stopped there without signing in.

Guest access is limited. Follow the current allowance and any access prompt you receive; this walkthrough did not exhaust the trial or test the account options afterward.
